Many people want to be rich, and most of this desire comes from the high-quality lifestyles of famous millionaires. Luxurious mansions and travels to tropical destinations are appealing to a lot of people, especially to people who struggle with financial issues. Many wealthy people have completely different lives from ours and do things that common mortals would never do. So, this is a compilation of Ridiculous wealth demonstrations, perfect examples of eccentricity or just situations where people have too much money:

• In the 18th and 19th centuries, showing off wealth was a trend between the absolute kings of Europe. Painting wood with liquid gold, throwing money to the populations and building huge palaces were common activities. The most notorious and powerful monarch of this time was Louis XIV of France. He wanted to show off his wealth so he decided to build the palace of Versailles. This palace has 2.300 rooms spread over 63.154m2 and it took 20 years to build. The palace is filled with expensive furniture, gold and a hall with 17 huge mirrors. Outside there’s a garden that covers 800 hectares. This monument is valued in $50.7 billion.

• Collecting cars, expensive accessories, branded clothing, and cutting-edge technology is common among the richest. Though this behaviour can shock some people, it’s normal for a millionaire to have various cars and mansions. There are, of course, some cases where these habits are exaggerated. The Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, monarch of Monaco, has the biggest collection of Rolls-Royce vehicles. This collection detains 500 cars and it’s evaluated in $4 billion. Another example of extravagant collections belongs to Jamie Chua. Jamie is a stewardess from Singapore, married to a multimillionaire, known in Instagram for her ostentation posts and has a huge collection of Hermès, with over 200 bags. The price of a Hermès bag can range from $11,900 to $300,000.

• For the ones who need more than a collection of cars, a private jet is an option. A brand new G450 can cost anywhere between $38 and $43 million, but usually the owner of this kind of transports likes to change it every four or five years, so the price of riding your own jet costs around $700,000 to $4 million per year.
• Sometimes we buy things we don’t need on impulse. Buying ridiculous stuff for a ridiculously high price is, in my opinion, a weird habit of some. For example, a Dorito that looked like the pope’s hat was sold for over 1000 dollars on eBay. Usually, these products are associated with celebrities. There are people who sell bubble gums, hair and even underwear from celebrities for thousands of dollars and the weirdest thing is that there are people who buy these products.

• The ultimate purchase for a millionaire is probably their own piece of land, and I’m not talking about a terrain, I’m talking about an island. Celebs like Marlon Brando, Johnny Depp, and Leonardo Di Caprio have their own island. Private islands can be bought or rented by millions of dollars. Celine Dion has a private island too. Celine Dion’s paradise is located in the Atlantic Ocean, Florida and has 5.7 acres. The island counts with 5 main buildings, three pools, water slides, and an unspoiled beach. It’s valued at $45.500.000.
Thinking that there are real people who actually live this way is crazy. Imagining how your life would be if you were rich is amazing. Less than 1% of the world of the population has the opportunity to live this way. This 1% has 50% of the wealth in the world, and this shows well how unbalanced this world is.
